City of Riverside to Host Virtual Workshop on Active Transportation Plan and Trails Master Plan

Virtual community workshop scheduled for April 22

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The City of Riverside is hosting a virtual workshop on Wednesday, April 22nd from 6-8 p.m. to obtain community input in the development of its Active Transportation Plan and Trails Master Plan. The virtual workshop will be hosted via Zoom Meeting, and simulcast on RiversideTV. Community members will be able to ask questions and provide feedback via a phone call-in number, text message, and Zoom’s chat function.

The City needs your input and hopes that you can engage through this virtual workshop while sheltering in place to limit the impacts of COVID-19. Residents who have exercised on City streets and trails (and practicing social distancing) may notice portions of trails they like, a gap in the bicycle network, or a missing sidewalk – we’d like to know what you’re experiencing!

Please RSVP at www.tinyurl.com/PACTrsvp if you are able to attend the workshop. Login details and the presentation will be released to those that RSVP prior to the meeting for individuals to review and submit questions to the project team.

This workshop is in support of the Riverside PACT, a city-wide plan that includes an Active Transportation Plan, a Trails Master Plan, a Complete Streets Ordinance, and a Pedestrian Target Safeguarding Plan. Community input from the workshop will help inform the PACT’s development, improving safety and increasing options for walking, biking, hiking, riding, and taking transit throughout Riverside.

The workshop will be rebroadcast the following day, Thursday April 23rd from 12-2 p.m. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and take feedback via phone call-in and text message. The workshop will be rebroadcast a final time on Saturday April 25th from 2-4 p.m.; staff will not be taking live comments during the rebroadcast, but all comments submitted to the City via email or phone will be reviewed.
