SUSPECTED DRUG TRAFFICKERS ARRESTED

RIVERSIDE, CA – In January 2018, Detectives with the Riverside Police Department’s Narcotics Unit began working information about a residence in the Mission Grove neighborhood possibly involved in trafficking illegal narcotics.  During the investigation, residents at this house, located in the 800 block of Kilmarnock Way, were observed conducting themselves in behavior that is consistent with the sales of drugs.

Last week on February 9th, detectives continued their surveillance and later made a traffic enforcement stop in the area of the Riverside Plaza related to their ongoing investigation.  Two occupants were detained and Narcotics K-9 “Link” responded and was able to alert on a package inside the vehicle that was later determined to be suspected cocaine.  Detectives then obtained and served a search warrant on the Mission Grove residence.

During the search, detectives and officers located more suspected cocaine, over 1300 assorted pills of MDMA, commonly referred to as “molly” or “ecstasy,” over 700 Xanax pills, hundreds of Norco and Morphine pills, and nearly $10,000 is cash.  They also found 6 illegally possessed firearms that included two AR-15 style rifles, one AK-47 assault rifle, two semi-automatic handguns, and one .357 Magnum revolver.  Also found was numerous ammunition and several illegal high capacity magazines.

Vincent Nguyen, 30-years-old of Riverside, and Edward Morales, 29-years-old of Riverside, were arrested and later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for possession of cocaine for sales, possession of MDMA for sales, and possession of a firearms with narcotics.  Long Nguyen, 35-years-old of Riverside, was arrested and later booked into jail for transportation of cocaine.  Truman Xayaseng, 30-years-old of Moreno Valley, was arrested and later booked into jail for transportation of cocaine and MDMA.

These arrests and seizures of illegal drugs, weapons, and cash were a result of the great teamwork between the Narcotics, Gang, and Vice Units, East Neighborhood Policing Center, and the West Post-Release Accountability and Compliance Team (PACT).  Anyone with further information about this investigation should contact Detective S. Levesque at (951) 353-7214.
