41 Arrested at City of Riverside DUI Checkpoint
Â
Riverside, CA – The Riverside Police Department conducted a DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint on February 5, 2021. The checkpoint was held on Van Buren Blvd. south of Garfield St. between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. The results of this checkpoint are as follows:

977Â Â Â Â Â Vehicles Screened
   4     DUI-Alcohol suspects arrested
  2     DUI – Drug impaired suspects arrested (one of whom was also arrested for possession of a loaded firearm and possession of narcotics for the purpose of sales)
 35     Drivers cited/arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while  Â
            suspended/revoked
  32     Citations issued

Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired.Â

As the state continues to work to stop the spread of COVID-19, The Riverside Police Department is committed to keeping the public safe when they are traveling.
