Does the City of Riverside recommend anyone to install my solar?

We do not recommend contractors, but the Federal Trade Commission outlines a list of best practices to follow when choosing a contractor.

How many solar panels can I install?

Your system can be sized to offset 150% of your actual energy used in kWh (kilowatt-hours) over the past 12 months. This is the maximum amount of energy production allowed for a solar system on your home. Smaller solar systems may be of any size you choose.


I’ve been asked to complete a Net Energy Metering (NEM) Interconnection Agreement. Can I do it online? (Only for projects completed before November 1, 2022)

Yes. You can request this by e-mailing SelfGeneration@riversideca.gov.
