Riverside Public Utilities

About

Our Water

Riverside Public Utilities water sources begin as rain and snow that touches down in our local foothills and mountains and flows down through the earth into underground aquifers.

With every storm these water sources, located throughout the Riverside, San Bernardino, and Bunker Hill basins, receive new water that is then filtered through percolation – a naturally occurring purification process.

Multiple water wells then pump water from the aquifers to treatment plants, reservoirs, and on to our customers in and around the City of Riverside through nearly 1000 miles of distribution pipelines.
